Adsense revenues decreasing?

My adsense revenues have always been increasing since I started my first website but what I have noticed is that the increase is coming from the increased number of hits and not from the ads themselves.

If I removed the effect of the increased hits I would actually find that adsense revenues are decreasing.

The decrease in adsense revenes overtime makes a lot of sense because people are becoming more aware of how the ads look like and so they become less likely to click on them.

What to do to prevent this decrease in adsense revenues?
