I am selling numerous successful online products and my sales are always increasing. Am sure you have read lots of email marketing tips, applied them all and got no results.
The reason you didn’t sell anything yet is that you are using the same traditional advices that everyone else is giving like “Personalize your mail” or “be friendly”, while these advices are useful still they are not enough to help you generate respectable sales nor they can help you become a successful online seller. In this article I will tell you what you should do in order to write emails that really sell.
Use fear & greed:
Motivation comes from 2 sources only. Fear of losing something or wanting to have something. Your email must induce one of these two emotions in the reader if not the two in order to motivate him. For example in the first two paragraphs in this article I told you that I am always increasing my sales (which is a fact) in order to motivate you to read my article.
By triggering your greed part i managed to motivate you to read my post. In the same time I told you that traditional advices won’t work which triggered your fear part and so you become even more motivated to read what i wrote. In short, people make emotional decisions when buying not rational decisions; if you managed to induce strong emotions in them they will buy your products.
Tell them buy they will say bye bye: People hate online marketers, unsolicited mails and people trying to sell them products. If your first email contained nothing but a pitch page then no single customer will buy from you. You must send emails that have useful free information and then in the end you can include few lines about your product.

If you managed to gain the trust of your readers then you have finished your selling job successfully because in your next mail you will send they will be looking for a product that you sell in order to get more benefits out of you. It’s up to you not to use this advice but you wont sell anything unless you do it (see how fear motivates people?).
Don’t push your product let them pull it: Its way easier to market a free website than to market a product that costs money and in the same time its much more beneficial to market your website than your product. People hate emails that ask them to buy something but they love free offerings. If you managed to market your free site that contains useful information you will be able to sell any product you want to your loyal visitors later on.
I always use emails to sell products but I rarely mention the products in the mail. I just market my website and when people visit it they find my product along the way then buy it. When people find the product themselves their chance of buying it becomes 10 times higher than when you push it to them.
What if my site contains nothing but pitch pages :?
Your chance of succeeding will be 10 times less. Forget about alternatives and start adding useful pages now. Add useful free content and let users land on these useful pages instead of letting them land on pitch pages. Within your useful pages add links to your pitch pages and you will see increased conversion rates.
