• 30 pixels matter !! : We all know about the Google’s famous heat map which recommends putting ads in many places including the hottest spot which is the top left of your page, However, what I discovered is that with each 30 pixels you move up in the left side bar your ads click through rates increase. This simply means that putting only 2 links above your skyscraper which is on the top left can decrease your earnings by something around 50%!! Make sure your sky scrapper stays on the top of the website on the left and never place anything above it even if it was too small.
• The right way to find the right keywords that pay: All the websites that talk about Adsense Optimization will tell you that targeting highly paying keywords can bring you more money but most of them fail to tell you how to find these keywords and how to solve the dilemma of finding keywords that pay high yet suitable for your site’s content. The answer is very simple, Go to Google analytics and check the top 20 pages in terms of Adsense earnings and then extract out of them the pages that brought you the highest earnings with the least amount of clicks. Those pages are the ones that triggered highly paying keywords that suit your website. Write similar content or target these same keywords and you will make more money over night
• Using the right side: Setup a vertical link unit and place it on the top of the right side bar, again with nothing above it, and you will see your earnings soaring over night.
• Increase ad units on popular pages: Go to Google analytics and find out the 10 most visited pages on your website then increase the number of ad units you are using there. This will result in a dramatic increase in your earnings since those pages get most of your website’s traffic and so modifying them can have a strong impact on your earnings.
• The lonely square : Put a big square unit of any size right above the middle of your content so the it’s the first thing to load before the rest of the page. In order for a person to read your content he will have to scroll down first to skip the ad or to click on it, this will increase your earnings over night.
