How to increase Google adsense revenue

I am making 20 times my first salary each month from my websites and adsense is one of my main sources of income. In this article I will tell you how to increase your adsense revenue so that you can make a living out of your website.

Before you know how to increase your adsense revenue you must first understand why your adsense revenues are not satisfactory. A simple look at Google’s adsense earnings report for a given day can show you the real reasons for having low adsense earnings. In the picture below we can see that 156 clicks only resulted in 22.06 dollars which means that this website is having a problem because of cheap Ads that are displayed. The other thing we can notice is that the page CTR is only 1.34% which means that only 1.34% of those who visit the website click on the advertisements.

In order to make more money from adsense you must know whether your problem is in the CTR, in cheap ads or in both. Once you find the root cause for low earnings fix it and you see your earnings increasing.

How to increase page CTR

CTR stands for the click through ratio and it determines the percentage of people who click on your ads in comparison with your site's overall visitors. Increasing CTR can be done in two main ways, the first is to make sure that your website is displaying relevant ads to your content and the second is to make sure that people can notice your ads.

How to get rid of cheap ads

Google gives you the option to remove any ad that you dislike using the competitive ads filter feature. Just logon to your adsense account click on “Competitive ads filter” and enter the URL of the ad that you don’t want to display on your site again.

Some people have criticized the use of this feature to filter cheap ads because they believe that Google displays the best performing ads all the time, however, practical experiment proofs that certain ads can pay you as little as 0.01 dollars while some ads can pay as high as 10 dollars per click. Determine the very low paying ads and filter them out and you will notice a significant improvement in your Adsense revenue.

Made for adsense

Some people create special websites that allows them to earn money from Google adsense by advertising for their websites cheaply using adwords then getting more money from visitors who click on their adsense ads. These sites usually have no useful content and the ads they display on your website pay as low as 0.01 dollars. In order to get rid of those made for adsense websites you must filter them using Google’s competitive ads filter. Worst performing ads

The 1.34% percent in the previous image resulted from all ad units on that website except the Adsense for search. The click through ratio in this case might be low because of only one ad that is performing badly and that is reducing the overall performance of the website's ads. For example if you use linkunits, 468X60 ads and a sky scrapper and are still getting low earnings then you must examine these ad units one by one to know which of them are responsible for the low ads.

Google Adsense channels allows you to group certain ads under one channel in order to monitor their performance separately. In the next image you can see the CTR for the 468X60 ads and the linkunit. By determining the worst performing ads and fixing the problems they have you will be able to maximize your Adsense revenues.
