How to increase pagerank in google

Last month my self help website broke the 9,000,000 Visits record. The surprising piece of information is that almost 75% of this traffic come from search engines.

So what does all this has to do with increasing the ranking of your pages? the first thing you can do to increase your page rank with no effort is to remove all unnecessary links from your pages especially if they were site wide links (blog roll links for example).

When you reduce the number of links in your pages the page rank will get distributed on fewer pages and each page will get a higher share of the overall page rank.

Nofollow is not useful

Lots of people try to use the nofollow attribute to prevent page rank from leaking but that's completely useless because as per Google's last update Nofollows will prevent page rank from going to the page you are linking too but would not prevent that link from being counted when Google makes its page rank calculations.

This means that a page that has 10 links, five normal ones and five no follows will still give 1/10 of its rank to each page that it links to!! so Nofollow harms the site you are linking to without giving you any additional benefit!!

In order to improve your ranking remove those links completely from your pages instead of linking to them using nofollow

Is page rank everything?
