It happened more than once that I accidentally visited a website that provided the same lame advices I saw millions of times before then found it to be a popular website!!!

Yes some websites get hundreds of thousands of visitors not because they are good but because there aren’t any other better websites to compete with them!!

When I first noticed this in the personal development field 2 years ago I launched my website 2knowmyself and provided really good content that is different from the inferior content I saw in most of the personal development websites i saw before.

The result was in this short period of time and this number is growing almost every month.

How to make my blog popular

The answer is one word "Differentiation". Don’t get it wrong like others do and think that your site must look different or that you must not be copycat and that’s all, but instead, you must understand that real differentiation means that your website must be different in all aspects especially the content and that it should provide something really different.

Its not enough to provide new thoughts or ideas but you must go beyond that by offering something all other online websites can’t offer. In 2knowmyself I offer complex psychological principles simplified enough to be understood by teens.

This is something that is almost non existent because the two categories that were available before 2knowmyself came into existence was either complex boring medical websites and personal development websites that aren’t based on psychology but rather on the opinion and life experience of the writer.

You can beat popular websites too

Some popular websites are really hard beat but most of them don’t have enough differentiation to make them unbeatable. I don’t want to give examples but I am sure you saw a popular website before and found it lame.

If you want to have a popular website then you must write about a topic that you are passionate about, that you know almost everything about and that you have much more to tell than all other websites that are competing with you. Once you find that topic start a content based website and you will become a millionaire within years.

The key point is differentiation that makes your website stands out of the crowed. There are lots of shaving tools out there but why is the philishave sold for a very high price? Because its way different!! make your website different and it will become popular. (see The competitive advantage).
