Making money from your blog

Currently my main source of income is my websites which bring me more than thirty times my first salary as a computer instructor.

Before I studied MBA I used to make four dollars a day from my website and even though I was happy with these few dollars still I used to compare myself to those who make thousands every month then wonder, why isn’t my blog making the same amount of money?

When I studied my MBA I learned that the main reason I am not making much money from my Blog is that I am still thinking of it as a Blog instead of thinking of it as an E-business.

How to turn your blog into an E-business

• Providing content that is based on the customer’s needs: As bloggers we write about what we like or what we believe in but when it comes to marketing you need to put content that appeals to your target market and not content that appeals to you (see Marketing your blog or website).
• What do people want? You must make a marketing research in order to understand what do people love, hate and what do they need. After you understand what the market wants you could simply introduce it to them.
• Yet another website? Your Blog must be different and must have an advantage that other blogs don’t have, else what would make people waste their time on your Blog instead of visiting other Blogs?
• Google Adsense will never make you rich: Adsense can bring you some money but it will never bring you the amount of money that makes you rich before your blog starts getting millions of hits/month. You must sell something on your Blog, whether it’s an Ebook, membership area or information it wont matter, All what matters is that products can make you rich while ads cannot.
