The past experience of your visitors

Some people fear dogs for their whole lives just because a Dog ran after them when they were little Kids.

The human mind records the experiences we pass through and the decisions we make along with the consequences that resulted from these decisions. If we took a decision in the past that resulted in some kind of pain then we are more likely to avoid taking similar decisions in the future.

But what does this has to do with a website that has no sales?
Actually one of the biggest reasons people might not be buying from you is the past experience they had when they bought a similar product.

The “S” Word

With the presence of millions of inferior products and online scams people started to fear the “s” word (Scam) more than they fear anything else.

Moreover when someone fears dogs he doesn’t only feel uncomfortable when seeing a dog but he also feels uncomfortable when its likely that he will encounter a Dog!!

In order to start selling you must do two very important tasks, the first is to convince people that your product is not like the ones they have bought before. This can never happen by telling them that you have “The ultimate method for losing 100 pounds in five seconds” but instead you must have a clear competitive advantage that is not over hyped. The second thing is to not look like scammers by any means, whether it’s the font they use, the style of writing, the headlines they use or even the designs that they make.

Don’t be lazy by using a template for your pitch page because this won’t result in any sales. As long as people doubt that your products are similar to the useless ones they bought before and as long as they doubt that you are a scammer you won’t sell anything online.
