Is Making money online using Google ads a good idea?

Out of the five digit income I make every month only 800 Dollars come from Google Ads. When you know that you my first website gets the 800 Dollars sound really odd!!

Of course you can make more money using Google adsense depending on the Niche you are targeting (obviously the payout in the self help niche is very low) but even if you make 2000 dollars using Adsense that’s still far from making you rich.

The interesting thing about selling Adspace manually on your website is that you can charge the amount of money you want for your ad per month (of course it must be reasonable and related to the amount of traffic you get).

The main reason Google ads can sometimes yield low income are the 1,2,3 and 5 cent clicks.
When you sell Ads manually on your site you can charge a fixed 100$ dollars for your ad/month and then rest assured that you will get them with disregard to the number of Clicks.

How to Sell ad space on your site

The first thing you need to do is to choose the spots on your website that are going to display the ads, once you do that you can move on to creating an "Advertise" page that contains all the details someone would want to know about buying an ad from your site.

The advertise page should be written in the same way you write pitch pages for a product or an affiliate program. You need to answer all the questions the buyers might have, you need to show him the benefits of putting his ad on your site and you need to remove any fears he might have while reading the page. If your website gets 100 hit/day then you definitely can’t charge someone 250$ for an ad per month and that’s why traffic is the most important factor in making income from Ad space.
