Its really funny to find everyone giving the same advices about blogging even if they haven’t tried these advices themselves or tested their effectiveness. While these tips might seem useful still in most cases they will never help you in making your blog popular or in letting you write better blog posts.

Is the first paragraph really important?

So everyone told you that the opening paragraph is the most important right? Actually this is not the case because most of online users scan pages instead of reading them which always results in skipping the first paragraph and heading right to the second one.

So the truth is that the second paragraph or the paragraph that appears after the second headline is the most important one.

Are bullet points really useful?

Everyone told you to use bullets right? While bullets are great for making your page appear organized still they will result in having people scan your page faster by just looking at the headlines of the bullets instead of reading the bullets themselves.

If by any means your visitors found the headlines familiar they will skip the whole bullet leaving your great content behind. In short only use bullets when you write super attractive headlines for them else the content of your bullets will be ignored.

Where are the emotions?

Contrary to common beliefs emotions are transferred through articles. If your post contains strong positive emotions like optimism, confidence and self assurance your readers will feel it and will end up trusting you. It was found that people prefer to read articles from websites owned and run by a single person instead of a websites that are owned by corporations. When readers develop an emotional connection with the person writing the posts they tend to feel more comfortable reading his posts than when reading an article from a website that is run by a company.

Don't use your picture on your blog!!

What you might not be aware of is that placing your picture on your blog is in most cases something negative, at least in the early stages.
